Cowin E7 Pro Full Review
The jump that Cowin made with the e7 Pro from 40mm drivers to 45 mm drivers might seem slight to some people; however, the magnitude of its effect is incredible. Plus, it has allowed this new model to have a much broader base of crisp, clear frequencies. Consequently, you’ll hardly ever find one tone overdoing the other. The balance of the sound overall is on point.
Moreover, the bass is as accurate and clear as it can be, in addition to being utterly unfazed by the change in volume, while still maintaining its booming effect.
Another issue that Cowin attempted to repair with the E7 Pro is the mid frequencies. Although they can still be worked on, they’re much better, clearer, and sharper now, and they don’t lose quality as the sound goes up.
Active noise cancellation is the star of the show when it comes to the Cowin e7 Pro. This neat feature quickly drowns out any noise surrounding you, and the cherry on top is the fact that it’s controllable.
So, if you wish to keep a sense of what’s going on around you, you totally can; it’s not a “take it or leave it” situation. Yet, if you want the maximum active noise cancellation, you can go all the way up to 30 dB of noise reduction.
Another great attribute regarding these headphones’ noise cancellation is that it doesn’t wear-out your playtime. With or without active noise cancellation, the Cowin e7 Pro will bring you around 30 hours of playtime uninterrupted and fully functional.
The overall construction of the Cowin E7 Pro is another aspect that has been upgraded exponentially. Although it still retains its plastic infrastructure, this model has been upgraded with metallic finishing touches that give it significant toughness, sturdiness, and elegance. It looks a lot more expensive and luxurious than the price tag paid for it.
Yet another attractive feature regarding the Cowin E7 Pro’s build is its headband, which is supported by high-quality flexible metal that allows it to wrap around any head size without putting any pressure on it or creating painful points anywhere.
The very last thing that we would like to add is that the headphones come in seven different colors, all boasting the same metallic finish. This allows you to choose whichever color suits your style and aesthetic without being limited to the basic known colors.
Because the Cowin E7 Pro headphones are over-ear closed-back headphones, they do offer a significant level of basic comfort. Even though they may look a little bulky, they’re lightweight and flexible, making wearing them and handling them a lot easier.
Nevertheless, we would like to add that these headphones are intended for regular everyday use more than the gyms and highly active work since it could make you sweat a little more than usual.
The clamping force is directly related to the quality of the headband. With the Cowin E7 Pro headphones, we’ve previously discussed that the headband features a metallic center with sufficient padding surrounding it.
Here, the clamping force is moderate enough to allow the headphones to stay on your head no matter what and without giving you awful headaches. The headband is also durable, so no matter how stretched it is, it’ll return to its original position without any damage to its construction.
The earcups are designed to be as large as possible to accommodate all ear sizes without creating any painful pressure points anywhere on the ear. Additionally, they can swivel up to 90°, allowing you to place the headphones flat on your chest whenever you’re not using them so that they stay out of the way.
As for the ear pads themselves, they’re made from faux-leather, which is comfortable, smooth, and soft on the ear. This kind of padding hardly creates any friction; still, prolonged use can lead to over-sweating. That’s precisely where the 90° swiveling earcups come into play so that you can give yourself a little bit of rest while maintaining your headphones close by.
As we’ve mentioned, the earcups rotate 90°, but unfortunately, these headphones don’t fold entirely to be stored. Yet, they do come with their own hard-shell protective case, which fits them perfectly and allows you to throw them in your backpack without worrying about them.
Another feature that enhances their portability is that they can operate wirelessly for around 30 hours of uninterrupted playtime, so that’s pretty handy!
Plus, even if you forget to charge them and end up running out of your 30-hour playtime window, you can effortlessly utilize the 3.5mm audio cable that comes with them and use the headphones in their wired variation.
With its matte black metallic finish, the Cowin E7 Pro feels rather stylish, including the controls, which are all placed on the right side of the headphones for easy access.
Nevertheless, they could’ve been situated a little bit further from each other than they are now, and that would’ve given us a little bit more freedom.
